Purpose behind taking such an initiative was to provide noiseless and smooth operation of elevator with consideration of notable saving in the electricity and lower space consumption. A Gearless Driving Machine is a direct-drive system in which there is no reduction gear attached between the motor and the drive (or hoisting) sheave.
